The Benedetto versus Hornets rain curse strikes again for the third time running! Incredible. Benedetto United were off to a flying start, two goals up by the time five minutes got by. But our opponents were let off the hook once again as they did their rain dance and got more than they wished for as lightning bolts stroke down dangerously. Unfortunately the match was called off at half time due to heavy downpour. The journey was well worth it though as we witnessed one of the most spectacular goals scored for Benedetto United, courtesy of Jeremy's vision and perfect execution from thirty five yards. What made it even more worth it was the way the Team played like men on fire despite the extremely chilly conditions. Onwards Benedetto~!

Benedetto United grabbed another three points as they overcome their opponents with a 4-1 score line; goals coming from Zhong Xiang, Wang Di, Bryan and Wei Jun. We went into this game with caution and determined not to get complacent. Wei Jie was serving a one match ban after being sent off absurdly in Benedetto's first game of the season against Killer Whales FC so Yue Kai slotted into the backline alongside Benedetto's 1st vice captain Jaemes.

The first half was a rather cagey affair as both teams struggled to hold on to the ball. Primero tried a few early long shots but none were on target. The first sign of danger came when James uncharacteristically pushed the ball too far and slid in late on the oncoming winger. He was lucky to escape with just a verbal warning. Primero's game play was rather predictable, sending diagonal balls to the wingers to chase. Other than the initial mistake, our fullbacks did well to deny any crosses into the Benedetto penalty box.

At the 27th minutes the dead lock was finally broken. Wei Liang put Wang Di through with a delicately chipped through pass, who twisted and turned his way into the penalty box and had his shot parried away by the keeper. Goal poacher Zhong Xiang was on hand to tap it into an open net. Wang Di then had a one on one opportunity with the goalkeeper on the 30th minute. He was as cool as ice as he pushed it away from the on-rushing keeper before tapping it into an open net to make it 2 in 3 minutes for the Team. Primero seemed to lose the plot as Clement and Zhi Han suffered nasty tackles.

Benedetto went into the half time lead with a 2-0 cushion but nothing won yet. On came Bryan the midfield general. In football there is a commonly held belief that all creativity begins in the midfield. And by bringing in Bryan, Benedetto's Andrea Pirlo (minus the hair). Captain Josiah was trying to use his creativity and laser guided through passes to kill the game early in the 2nd half. However what he did not expect was Bryan to get himself on the score sheet just 3 minutes into the 2nd half. He was put through down the right flank and he left the goalkeeper feeling helpless as his screamer blasted into the bottom right hand corner. On 61 minutes, Abel came in for James who had got himself booked for deliberately standing in front of a opponent's free kick. Abel's sheer athleticism and marauding runs down the right adds another dimension to Benedetto's game.

By now, it was already Benedetto's game to lose. On 67 minutes, Liam Wei Jun sealed the win. He took a poor first touch of the ball in the box but got a second bite of the cherry and calmly slotted in to the bottom left hand corner of the goal. A well taken goal from outside the box on the 70th minute gave our opponents a consolation. That was the only thing they had to cheer about for the day as Benedetto held on to the 4-1 lead until the final whistle. Onwards Benedetto~!
